After landing at the airport, we will begin our journey south along the Carretera Austral, the unpaved extension of Route 7. We will cross rivers, lakes, and valleys surrounded by mountains and pristine forests, and we will hike the trails of Cerro Castillo National Park, entering through the Las Horquetas entrance. We will stay at La Casona, Cerro Castillo.

After breakfast, we will depart for Villa Cerro Castillo for a horseback ride through the surrounding colorful forests. After three hours on horseback, we will continue our journey south toward General Carrera Lake, one of the largest freshwater reserves in the world. Along the way, we will make multiple stops for photos. At sunset, we will arrive at the lodge, where a delicious welcome dinner awaits us. We will stay at Mallín Colorado Ecolodge.

After breakfast at the lodge, we will visit the famous Baker River, the most voluminous in Chile, with its stunning turquoise waters originating in Puerto Bertrand. We will continue south to the confluence of the Baker and Nef Rivers, where we can witness a unique blend of waters from different sources.

Next, we will explore Patagonia National Park, visit its museum and other facilities, and observe large groups of guanacos, a species that has thrived remarkably in the park. We will have lunch by lagoons inhabited by ducks and wild birds.

We will end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Mallín Colorado Ecolodge.

After breakfast, we will take a hike through the Mallín Colorado forest, walking among lengas, coigües, and ñirres while enjoying breathtaking views of General Carrera Lake. We will have the opportunity to photograph the deep, dark coigüe forest near the lodge.

Gradually, we will ascend to reach open viewpoints with panoramic views of General Carrera Lake and the vast mountainous landscapes. We will continue until we get close to the Contreras Range glaciers, where the eternal snow is illuminated by powerful rays of light.

During the hike, we will stop as often as needed to photograph the countless wild plants, herbs, flowers, and trees of all ages.

We will have lunch at the lodge and, before sunset, visit the nearby town of Puerto Guadal to witness an extraordinary sunset, weather permitting.

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Early in the morning, we will head north to visit the Marble Cathedrals. Before reaching Puerto Tranquilo, we will board a boat and navigate toward a peninsula of marble caves with impressive rock formations sculpted by thousands of years of water erosion.

We will enter the caves by boat to admire the spectacular interplay of colors between the water and the white, turquoise, and sky-blue hues of the rock.

Our journey will then continue toward Coyhaique, passing through the same landscapes as on our way in but now bathed in morning light, offering new opportunities to photograph the untouched beauty of Chilean Patagonia.

We will stay overnight in Coyhaique and enjoy a farewell dinner.

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for our return flight.
